A member of Canada’s influential Group of Seven, Frederick H. Varley married his love of nature with his deeply modernist sensibilities to create works that captured both the look and the feel of the Canadian landscape. The Cloud, Red Mountain shows peaks of the Coast Mountains in British Columbia. As a well-seasoned traveler, Varley pursued inspiration throughout the North American continent.
